IFL Announces Week One Players of the Week

The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the Players of the Week for Week One of the 2024 IFL season. Alejandro Bennifield (MASS) is named Offensive Player of the Week, Matt Elam (MASS) is named Defensive Player of the Week, and Arsiah McCorker (NAZ) is named Special Teams Player of the Week.

Alejandro Bennifield, QB, Massachusetts Pirates

After his stellar performance, Alejandro Bennifield is named Week One Offensive Player of the Week. In his first game of the 2024 season, Bennifield completed 13 of 24 passes for 111 yards and three scores. That's not when the fireworks ended, however. On the ground, Bennifield added 28 rushing yards and three more touchdowns. Make that six total touchdowns for the Pirates' quarterback. Week One was a strong start for Alejandro Bennifield and the Massachusetts Pirates. The season is young, but this could be Bennifield's start to an MVP-caliber season.

Matt Elam, CB, Massachusetts Pirates

Following a stout defensive performance, Matt Elam is named Week One Defensive Player of the Week. Elam was all over the field on Sunday versus the Blizzard, as he accumulated five tackles, as well as a tackle for loss. Not only was Matt Elam productive in the tackling department, but his fourth-quarter interception sealed the game for Massachusetts. All-around, Matt Elam played a major part in the Pirates' Week One victory.

Arsiah McCorker, KR, Northern Arizona Wranglers

After an electric start to the season, Arsiah McCorker is named Week One Special Teams Player of the Week. In the first game of the 2024 IFL season, Arsiah McCorker put on a show. Seven kickoff returns. 148 return yards. Two return touchdowns. McCorker has truly set the bar for special teams play this season after his performance in Week One.
