
IFL Announces Postseason Format

Richmond, VA - The Indoor Football League (IFL) is excited to reveal the 2014 postseason schedule and format. The race for the United Bowl will commence following a 17-week, 63-game regular season schedule that kicks off on Friday, February 21st and concludes on Saturday, June 14th .
Number of Qualifiers: 4
Number of Rounds: 2
Qualifiers: The two regular season Conference Champions and the highest seeded Wild Card team in each Conference.
Round 1 (Conference Championships): The Conference Championship Games will take place during the weekend of June 20th . The two regular season Conference Champions (#1 Seeds) will host the Conference Championship game against the Wild Card team in its Conference. The winner will be crowned Conference Champion.
Round 2 (League Championship): The United Bowl will take place during the weekend of June 27th . The higher seeded Conference Champion will host the lower seeded Conference Champion. The winner of this game will be crowned United Bowl Champion.
Tiebreakers: Teams with matching winning percentages will be selected on a series of tiebreakers. The first team having an advantage in tiebreaker categories will be considered the higher seed. In ties involving three or more teams, once the tiebreaker process eliminates a team, the method reverts back to Step 1 for all remaining teams. The tiebreaker process continues in a similar manner until the highest seeded team is determined. The following are the tiebreaker categories in order of relevance:

Won/Loss Percentage
2) Head to Head Record vs. Opponent(s) Involved in Tie
3) Head to Head Point Differential vs. Opponent Involved in Tie
4) Opponents Win Percentage (Strength of Schedule)
5) Point Differential for the Season (Total Points Scored Minus Total Points Allowed)
The Indoor Football League was created in 2008 from a merger between the Intense Football League and the United Indoor Football Association. Its teams are located from Kennewick, Washington to Green Bay, Wisconsin. The 2014 regular season begins February 21st . Contact your favorite team for ticket information!
