IFL Announces 2021 League Awards

October 4, 2021 - Indoor Football League (IFL) News Release


The IFL wrapped up their 2021 season and started their preparation for the future this past week at the MGM in Las Vegas. The meetings consisted of all participating teams for the upcoming 2022 season. The following franchises were recognized for the efforts on and off the field for the 2021 campaign. The IFL expects a mid October schedule release.

"We just wrapped a historic season for our league. Our on the field play has never been as competitive as we had in 2021 and I anticipate 2022 to be even more exciting," said IFL Commissioner Todd Tryon. "2022 is going to be a big year for our league and each franchise that represents it."

Franchise of the Year: ARIZONA RATTLERS

This award is given to the best overall team during the 2021 season. Factors to consider are; attendance, sales, public relations, marketing, efforts to improve the IFL as a whole, performance on the field, community involvement, participation on league matters, and overall representation of the IFL.

Executive of the Year: KEVIN GUY

This award is given to the IFL Team Owner, General Manager, or Front Office Employee that performed the best during the 2021 season. Factors to consider are; management, team guidance, participation on league matters, sales, leadership, efforts to improve the IFL as a whole, and overall representation of their respective team and the IFL.

John Pettit Person of the Year: JULI PETTIT

This award goes to the individual who shows dedication and exemplary service to their team as well as their community. This award will be given to a caring individual who always has the best interest of their team, fan base, community, and the Indoor Football League in mind.

Best Fan Base: ARIZONA RATTLERS

This award is given to the Team whose fans showed the most enthusiasm, character, energy, and overall appreciation for their team.

Best Game Operations: ARIZONA RATTLERS

This award is given to the Team that did the best job with game presentation including; half-time shows, giveaways, music, on-field promotions, etc.

Best Cheerleader / Dance Team: FRISCO FIGHTERS

This award is given to the Team with the most talented and attractive cheer/dance team. Factors to consider; uniforms, class, routines, and crowd interaction.

Community Relations: DUKE CITY GLADIATORS

This award is given to the Team that exemplified outstanding service and dedication to their surrounding community.

Best Hospitality: FRISCO FIGHTERS

This award is given to the Team the provided the best overall experience for the visiting team while on the road. Host hotel, pre/post-game meal, and other accommodations are considered.

Best Social Media: FRISCO FIGHTERS

This award is given to the Team with the best team website and social media presence. Aesthetics, ease of use, up to date information, content, and fan interaction are considered.

Best Mascot: TUCSON SUGAR SKULLS

This award is given to the Team with the most creative, energetic, and talented mascot. Factors to consider; costume, routine, crowd interaction, and name.

Best Media Relations: ARIZONA RATTLERS

This award is given to the Team with the best coverage from local newspapers, radio, and TV. Game notes, press releases, articles, and content are considered.

Best Game Day Broadcast: SPOKANE SHOCK

This award is given to the Team with the best overall broadcast and game presentation via our YouTube online steaming platform. Announcers, camera angles, graphics, and overall presentation are considered.
