Corpus Christi, TX.: The Intense Football League is working hard this off season to make 2008 the most successful to date. With the growth of the league and it's popularity, the need for a director of communications was a vital element for continued success.
Today, the IFL announced the addition of Robert Winfrey for the position. Winfrey will bring a fresh and unique perspective to the promotion of the league. He has been involved with game day promotions with a number of indoor football teams over the past 5 seasons. Last season he covered the IFL for an indoor football website, and already has knowledge of the teams, coaches and players. "We are very excited to have Robert on board with us for the upcoming season", commented IFL Vice President Tommy Benizio, "He brings a passion for our league, that this position will need."
Winfrey resides in Nederland, Texas and has the support from his wife Dana on this opportunity. "I feel the key to any successful league or organization is how well it communicates with the media and it's fans", explained Winfrey, "I know what a fan expects from a league, and that is what I will try my best to do. Because without the fans, the sport will not grow."
Robert will be responsible for communicating with the teams local media on league issues as well as the national media along with managing the IFL web site, assisting with team statistics, and other communications duties.
The 2008 IFL season will start in March and crown a champion in July. For more information about the IFL go to www.intensefootballleague.net or contact Robert Winfrey at (409) 363-1957.
