IceMen Split The Weekend, Prepare For Home Opener

The Evansville IceMen split a weekend series against the Madision Ice Muskies, winning 8-7 Friday night and getting shut out 6-0 on Saturday night. The team returned to Evansville late early Sunday morning and will get to work in preparation for their season home opener, Friday October 30th, against the same Ice Muskie team.

"We learned a lot about our team this weekend", IceMen head caoch Jack Colling said. "Sometimes it takes that game action to find out a few things that you didn't know. We know more about what we need to work on heading into this next weekend, and that is what we are going to focus on."

The IceMen beat the Ice Muskies Friday night, 8 to 7, in a thrilling game that saw overtime and a shootout, after a long road trip. The Ice Muskies got their revenge, and their first win, on Saturday night, shutting out the IceMen 6 to 0, behind a strong showing by their goaltender Nick Niedert.

The teams return to the ice Friday night in Evansville, at Swonder Ice Arena at 7:00pm. It is Nick Nackery Opening Night and fans are encouraged to wear their halloween costumes to the game. The IceMen return to the ice Sunday afternoon at 4:00pm against the Chicago Blaze for College Night. Wear the gear of your favorite college team.
