Evansville IceMen News Release

The Evansville IceMen of the All American Hockey League made a trade with the Chi-Town Shooter on Wednesday, just four days before the start of training camp. The IceMen sent defenseman Ryan Sexsmith to the Shooters for defensemen CJ Schneider.

"We lost one of our defensemen, Ed Levens, that was invited to training camp on Tuesday", GM Chip Rossetti said. "Ed is a big guy, standing 6 foot 3. We needed to find somethat that could fill in the spot that he had and CJ is another big kid. We loved having Ryan (Sexsmith) on the IceMen, but we felt that he had a better chance to further his career with the Shooters."

Schneider started the 2008-2009 season with the IceMen before being called up to the Flint Generals of the IHL. After his return to the IceMen, Schneider had problems with injuries and eventually finished the season with Chi-Town.

"I'm very excited to be coming back to play in the city of Evansville", Schneider said. "I have sat down with the front office and apologized for my actions on and off the ice and they have given me a second chance to prove myself and now I believe I owe the fans of the icemen a apology. I let the ownership, the team, the coaching staff and most of all the fans down last season. I am coming to Evansville to help the team win a championship that this the fans deserve so much. I hope the fans of Evansville can forgive me for my actions last season and move forward to win us a championship!"

With the addition of Schneider, the IceMen have released their training camp roster for the 2009-2010 season. Training camp starts for the IceMen on Monday when the new team hits the ice at 12:30 in the afternoon. All sessions will be open to the public.
