Rockford IceHogs News Release

Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs, in an effort to help honor our brave men and women who are currently serving overseas, have announced that the Friday, Nov. 17 game against Bloomington will be "Support Your Troops Night". Fans can call-in to the IceHogs office and pre-order their tickets to the game for either $13 or $16. With each pre-purchased ticket sold, the IceHogs will donate $4 to help send care packages to active military members who will be away from their families this Christmas. To order your tickets, call the IceHogs office at (815) 986-6465 or go to the IceHogs Web site -- www.icehogs.com -- and send in the order form on the front page.

In addition the monetary donation for each pre-purchased ticket, fans are encouraged to bring items to donate to the care packages. Items include toiletries, batteries, calling cards, books and much more. For a complete list of items needed by our soldiers, visit the IceHogs Web site at www.icehogs.com. Each fan that brings an item to donate at the Friday, Nov. 17 game will receive a voucher for a free $9 ticket to the Wednesday, Dec. 13 game against Bloomington. Monetary donations will also be accepted at the Nov. 17 game.

Many soldiers could use the items donated from our fans, but we would like to include local heroes. If you or anyone you know has a family member, friend or loved one currently serving overseas, e-mail their complete name and mailing address to the IceHogs general e-mail -- icehogs@icehogs.com -- and they will receive a generous care package from the IceHogs and its fans.

To make the night more impactful, the IceHogs are requesting the help of local families and businesses in supporting a military group so that they will be able to attend the game Nov. 17 and be honored for the work that they've done for our country. Purchase a block of seats through the IceHogs office or on the Web site that will be donated to local military groups. With your generous purchase, you will receive P.A. announcements at the game as well as be recognized in the gameday program for your charitable efforts.

Also, when at the game Nov. 17, don't miss out on what's sure to be an emotional performance by up-and-coming country singer Dawn Martin who will be performing her patriotic song "Long Overdue" during the game for our service men and women in attendance.

"Support Your Troops Night" is also Poster Night #2 presented by Pepsi, WXXQ-98.5 FM, Medicine Man, Johnson Press and the Rockford Register Star. The poster will have a military theme in honor of the special night.

If you have any questions about "Support Your Troops Night" or how you can be more involved in the event, contact the IceHogs office at (815) 986-6465.

Next Home Game: Wednesday, Nov. 15 vs. Fort Wayne Komets. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. The IceHogs introduce Dollar Days! Fans can purchase soft drinks, hot dogs, peanuts and select candy items for just $1 presented by WXRX-FM 104.9.
