Port Huron Icehawks News Release
PORT HURON, MI - The Port Huron Icehawks of the International Hockey League will hold a free agent camp in September to allow young players a chance to battle their way onto the Icehawks roster.
The camp will be held Friday, September 18 through Sunday, September 20 and consist of practices and scrimmage games. After three days of evaluation, Head Coach and General Manager Stan Drulia will select a minimum of one forward, one defenseman and one goalie to attend the Icehawks official training camp in October.
"We as an organization would like to give as many players as possible the opportunity to play professional hockey," Drulia said. "This camp gives players the chance to showcase their skills at a very high level. There are many good players out there that get overlooked. We want to allow those kids the best chance."
Cost is $250 without a hotel or $300 with a hotel (shared room). The price includes five ice sessions, breakfast each day, lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and dinner on Friday and Saturday. Participants must be at least 19-years old and provide proof of insurance.
Those interested are encouraged to register early as spots are limited. Register online at www.porthuronicehawks.com. For more information, please contact the Icehawks office at 810-966-3800.
