Port Huron Icehawks News Release
PORT HURON, MI - The Port Huron Icehawks of the International Hockey League announce that they have signed a one-year lease agreement with McMorran Arena and are gearing up for the 2009-10 season.
The one-year deal includes an option for a one-year renewal with the same terms.
"The Icehawks are very happy to be returning again next season and appreciate the good working relationship with McMorran Arena General Manager Randy Fernandez, the McMorran Authority Board and Board Chairman Mark Bessette," Icehawks Vice President/Business Manager Dave Goetze said. "This lease agreement is a win-win for both parties. They are helping us by lowering our base attendance number and we are assisting them by picking up some ushers for next season."
He added, "We will also have the opportunity to receive a portion of the concessions and parking, while McMorran will benefit from several ticket and food and beverage packages that the Icehawks will offer in cooperation with the arena. We both must work together to be successful."
Season ticket packages for the 2009-10 season will go on sale on Monday, May 18 at the Icehawks office at 325 Huron Avenue in downtown Port Huron.
"McMorran Arena, downtown Port Huron and the community as a whole benefit from the Icehawks playing hockey here," Fernandez said. "I look forward to my continued relationship with Owner Larry Kinney, Governor Frank Kinney and Dave Goetze."
Season ticket prices have been reduced for the 2009-10 season. For more information call 810-966-3800 or visit www.porthuronicehawks.com.
