
Icehawks Head to Muskegon With Series Ties at One

PORT HURON, MI - After splitting a pair of games to open the first round of the International Hockey League Turner Cup Playoffs last weekend, the Port Huron Icehawks will travel to Muskegon to battle with the Lumberjacks in Games Three and Four on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The series will then shift back to McMorran Arena on Friday for Game Five at 7:30 p.m. Cheer on your Icehawks as they continue their quest toward the Turner Cup. The first 1,000 fans will receive a free team poster.
If necessary, Game Six will be Saturday, April 25 in Muskegon and Game Seven will be played on Tuesday, April 28 in Port Huron. All games in Muskegon are at 7 p.m., while all games in Port Huron will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Series Notes: Both games thus far have been a back-and-forth battle. The Lumberjacks won 5-4 on Friday and the Icehawks tied the series with a 5-3 win on Saturday. The Icehawks have dominated much of the play in the series, outshooting the Lumberjacks 99-41, but hold just a 9-8 advantage in goals scored. Muskegon goalie Clayton Pool has made 90 saves on 99 shots for Muskegon.
Vernarsky On A Tear: Icehawks center Kris Vernarsky leads the Icehawks and the league in playoff scoring with six points (2g, 4a) in just two games.
Snowball Reassigned: Icehawks right wing Robert Snowball was reassigned to Port Huron today from the Lake Erie Monsters in the American Hockey League and is slated to play tonight in Muskegon. The enforcer had two points (1g, 1a) and 15 penalty minutes in seven games with Lake Erie.
