Bozeman Icedogs News Release

Veteran ICEDOGS Chris McKelvie and Brian Moore have been selected as Co- Captains for the 2005-06 season. At this time, official Assistant Captains will not be named.

Chris and Brian were selected by the team after three weeks of camp through a formal vote. All votes were spread among the six veterans, with Chris and Brian at the top. Head Coach John LaFontaine and Assistant Coach Kevin Stone confirmed the player's nominations and made their selection final and are excited about the leadership of these fine young men and the other four veterans who will be expected to assist in leading the team. "Brett Nylander, Ryan Bunger, Josh Heidinger, and Graham McManamin will play a big role in leading this team throughout the season," said coach LaFontaine.

Chris and Brian will lead the ICEDOGS, both on an off the ice. Other players will look to them to demonstrate the level of commitment required to be successful. They will motivate and lead in the locker room, during games and practices, and in the community. Their biggest challenge will be helping their teammates consistently play their very best. On occassion, Chris and Brian will have to motivate and be involved in enforcement of team standards and rules.

Every two weeks, they will meet with the coaching staff as a vital link with the team. Together, they will decide if any players need extra help, are distancing themselves from their teammates, how practices are being received, energy level of players, and anything else that the coaching staff needs to be made aware of.
