Niagara IceDogs News Release
The IceDogs travelled to Hamilton tonight to take on the Bulldogs in the Battle of the Dogs. The IceDogs were coming fresh off a big win last night versus Peterborough, and looked to take that confidence into tonight's game.
The IceDogs came out fast in the first period and scored the first goal of the game. Akil Thomas picked the Bulldogs' pocket in the corner and fed Johnny Corneil out front to make it 1-0. The Bulldogs managed to get two goals in the first, with one goal on the power play, to end the first period at 2-1 in favour of Hamilton.
The second period played with a lot of back and forth hockey, however the score would remain 2-1 after two periods of play.
The IceDogs fought hard in third however the IceDogs would take two penalties resulting in a 5-on-3 halfway through the third period. Hamilton managed to get one past Colton Incze on the 5-on-3 to make it 3-1, which would end up being the final score.
