IceDiggers sweep Rangers with 4-2 victory

Alpena MI: The IceDiggers completed a two game sweep against the Marquette Rangers this afternoon with a 4-2 victory at Northern Lights Arena in NAHL preseason action.

Once again Todd Rudasill led the charge with a goal and an assist while veteran Ricardo Yesue netted his first of the preseason. Newcomer Kerry Bence scored his first goal in an IceDigger uniform, while the Captain Nolan Craner scored for the second night in as many nights. Zach Barron, Brett Kaneshiro, Marco Ruggeri, Taylor Doorlag and Drew Pierson all had one assist each.

Rookie Brandon Stephenson started in goal allowing 1 goal on 16 shots, he was replaced by local goal keeper Justin Marzean who made 12 saves on 13 shots.

The IceDiggers will now hit the road for an exhibition game against the SOO Thunderbirds (NOJHL) on Wednesday Sept. 6th at 7:30PM.

Alpena will then host the SOO on Friday Sept. 8th at 7:00PM at Northern Lights Arena.
