Alpena IceDiggers News Release
Alpena MI: The Alpena IceDiggers of the North American Hockey League announced today they have signed forward Tyler Pilmore for the 2007-2008 season. The Sylvania OH native is currently playing with the Toledo Cherokee in the Central States Hockey League.
Pilmore is in his second season in Toledo. The 5'11 180 lbs has scored 15 goals and added 29 assists for 44 points in 33 games so far this season. The right winger suited up for one IceDigger game this season in a 6-2 win over Marquette in early January.
"Tyler is the kind of player we look for when we go out and recruit, he is solid two way player that can score, he is a great student in the classroom, he and his family take his studies very serious." said head coach Kenny Miller. "He will be a great addition to our club."
Pilmore is coached by former NHL'er Iain Duncan. "Iain has great things to say about Tyler, he is a hard working kid with a great work ethic and that's what we want here in Alpena." added Miller
The IceDiggers return to action on Wednesday when they play host to the Traverse City North Stars. Face off will be at 7:00PM. For more information on the IceDiggers visit the club's website at www.icediggers.com or call the main office at (989) 356-9812.
