Alpena IceDiggers News Release
Alpena IceDiggers Junior "A" Hockey Club is eagerly seeking "Host Families" for the upcoming 2006-07 season for players recruited from across the United States, Canada and Europe. These elite athletes, who range in age from 16 to 20, will be on the ice daily, either practicing or playing, as they pursue their dreams of obtaining an NCAA scholarship or advancing to the professional level.
They require a caring, comfortable, clean and safe environment that will nurture their development as outstanding hockey players and upstanding role models in the community. Those interested should:
Role model influence and guidance for an elite athlete
Have a balanced, family-oriented lifestyle- A home away from home environment
Live in reasonable proximity to Northern Lights Arena
Desire to support the Digger organization
Have experience with and understanding of teenagers
Bedroom or private area of the house
Enough good food for three meals per day
The players will arrive in early August and will be here until mid-April. "Host Families" will provide all accommodations. Families who open their homes to these players receive a monthly stipend.
