Alpena IceDiggers News Release

Alpena MI: The Alpena IceDiggers of the North American Hockey League are proud to announce the team has signed Jonathan Puskar to a tender for the 2007-2008 season.

The Canton MI native spent the 2006 campaign with the Midget Major Compuware Ambassadors of the Midwest Elite Hockey League (AAA).

"Jon played with Jimmy McCusker (Novi MI) at Compuware last year so when we offered him the tender it didn't take long for him to decide Alpena was the place he wanted to play juniors." said head coach Kenny Miller

The 5'11 180 lb forward led his Compuware in every statistical category scoring 33 goals while adding 42 assists for a total of 75 points in 61 games played. "We have added a hard working kid that has the ability to score goals, he scored goals in midgets and I think he will at junior level as well." added Miller

Puskar becomes the third player this season to sign a tender for next year, joining Tyler Pilmore (Toledo Cherokee Jr. B), and Dan Pason (Little Caesars AAA).

For more information on the signing of Puskar and other news and notes log onto the teams website at www.icediggers.com or call the main office at (989) 356-9812. Be sure to check the clubs website for future signings and college commitments.

The IceDiggers open game one of the Robertson Cup playoffs on Saturday when they play host to the USA U-17 team. Face off is set for 7:00PM. Puskar will be in attendance for media interviews. The two teams will play game two on Easter Sunday at Northern Lights Arena that game has a special 6:00PM start.
