The coaching staff was happy with the way things went in Blaine. "It was a good week, we have talked about how we need to play well on the road in order to win in this division and even though we lost two games I was happy with the way we played for the most part." stated head coach Kenny Miller

The showcase event was a huge success with every NHL team, Division I and Division III programs in attendance scouting players. "We had several colleges asking about our guys, which is always a good thing, the guys will have to continue to get better as the year goes on in order to earn a college scholarship." added Miller

The North Division went 12-8 overall while the South went a combined 12-10-2 and the Central Division was an even 12-12.

Alpena now will turn their attention to the home opener at Northern Lights Arena on Friday Sept. 22 at 7:00PM. "The north division had a strong showing at the showcase so we know that next weekend will be a test against Marquette but with it being in our building in front of the best fans in the league we will be ready for the challenge." said Miller
