IceDiggers add forward Brandt

Alpena IceDiggers News Release


Alpena MI: Alpena IceDiggers GM/Head Coach Kenny Miller announced today the team has signed forward Kenny Brandt effective immediately. The 5'10" 185 lbs native of Plymouth MI reported to Alpena on Monday and begin practicing with his new teammates at that time.

Brandt spend time with the Ohio JR. Blue Jackets of the United States Hockey League (USHL) prior to joining the IceDiggers. In two seasons in the Eastern Junior Hockey League (EJHL) Brandt played with the Valley Warriors where he suited up in 79 total games scoring 24 goals and 26 assists for a total of 50 points.

Miller is excited about the signing. "We have a few minor injures up front and to be able to add a player like Kenny is a big plus for our hockey club." stated Miller "He will give us another scoring threat and he is a tremendous skater with a knack for being around the net."

Brandt and his teammates will travel to Marquette on Sunday to take on the Rangers face off will be at 3:00PM.

The IceDiggers will play without captain Nolan Craner (Plainwell MI) this weekend as he nurses a minor injury, Miller said Craner should be ready to go next Thursday when Alpena travels to Ann Arbor to take on the USA U-17 team before heading to Mahoning Valley to play the Phantoms on Friday and Saturday.
