Ice Releases Schedule

Indiana Ice News Release


INDIANAPOLIS, IN- The Indiana Ice will travel north to open the 2010-11 season on Saturday, October 2 to square off with the expansion Muskegon Lumberjacks. The Ice's home opener is slated for Saturday, October 9 against the Sioux Fall Stampede at 7:05 pm from Pepsi Coliseum.

The Ice will again embark on a USHL schedule of 60 games, comprised of 30 home dates, 24 of which are on Friday and Saturday. All home games are scheduled for 7:05 pm except for a pair of Sundays and two other special dates. The two Sunday contests will begin at 3:05 pm and New Year's Eve will be a 6:05 pm start. In addition, the Ice will be hosting a special game at 10:05am on Tuesday, January 25 that will be dubbed "Hockey in the Classroom," giving area school children the opportunity to learn geography, math, and other important subjects via the sport of hockey. All home games will be played at Pepsi Coliseum with the possibility of a game at Conseco Fieldhouse being announced at a later date.

For the third straight season the USHL will welcome two expansion clubs. The Dubuque Fighting Saints and Muskegon Lumberjacks will increase the amount of teams in the league to 16 for the 2010-11 campaign. With the two additions, the league has now split the 16 clubs into an Eastern and Western Conference.
