
Ice players make college commitments

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Ice announced today that forwards Brandon Richardson and Sebastian Geoffrion have come to decisions on their future Division 1 college destinations. Richardson will attend the University of Nebraska-Omaha of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA), while Geoffrion will skate for the University of Alabama-Huntsville of College Hockey America (CHA).
Richardson currently leads the Ice in scoring with 27 points (9G, 18A) and will be heading to a Mavericks program that boasts seven former Icemen this season. Those currently in Omaha, NE include forwards Tomas Klempa, John Kemp and Jake Skjodt and defensemen Eddie Del Grosso, Eric Olimb, Mike Phillippi and Matt Smith. In addition, Richardson will be joining his current teammate Brent Gwidt next year in Nebraska.
Geoffrion joined Indiana last week in a trade with the Lincoln Stars. The former Culver Academy star becomes the first Ice member to play for the Chargers who are coached by former IHL Ice forward Danton Cole.
The Ice plays three games in three nights this week with two road contests sandwiching Friday's home contest against Sioux Falls at 7:30 p.m. from Pepsi Coliseum. Indy travels to Cedar Rapids on Thursday and Waterloo on Saturday night.
