Indiana Ice News Release

WEEKEND WITH WATERLOO: The Ice split a pair of home games with the Waterloo Black Hawks over the weekend as the team blanked the "Hawks" 2-0 on Friday night, before dropping a heartbreaker Saturday evening 4-3. Jon Gillies tossed a 30-save shutout in Friday's victory, while Christian Hilbrich and Jacob Fallon found the back of the net. Joe Rehkamp scored for Waterloo with just five clicks left on the clock to nip Indy on Saturday night. Fallon, Sean Kuraly and Woody Hudson scored for Indiana, while Dalton Izyk played the majority of the game in net and stopped 24 shots.

EASTERN BLOC: The USHL's Eastern Conference has put on a clinic against the West as the eight teams from the East are 20-6-0 in head to head battles against the West this season.

POWER RANGERS: With a power play goal Saturday night, the Ice has now scored a power play goal in all eight games this season. Indy enters this weekend's action first at home (38.5%), on the road (38.1%) and overall (38.2%) with the man advantage. Ironically, the team is also a perfect 13-13 on the penalty kill at home and sixth overall with an 87.2% clip.

"GILLIES" MONSTER: Goaltender Jon Gillies' shutout on Friday night was his fourth of his Indiana career which ties him with Clark Cup winning netminder Brett Bennett (08-09) for most shutouts in Ice franchise history. He enters the week first in the USHL in wins (5) and fifth in both GAA (1.88) and save percentage (.934).

JACOB'S LADDER: Jacob Fallon has fit nicely on the line with Sean Kuraly and Daniil Tarasov as the second-year USHL forward has at least a point in seven of the team's first eight games and leads all league players with four power play goals.

THE NOTEBOOK: Daniil Tarasov (14 pts) is first and Sean Kuraly (11 pts) is tied for third in the USHL in scoring...Alex Barron is tied for first among d-men in points (8)...Dalton Izyk stopped a period season-best 17 shots in the third period of Saturday night's game...Indy is 5-0-0 when leading after two periods.
