LaBelle and Schoeneberger Lead Wolves to Win

The Berkshire Battalion and the Watertown Wolves both coming off a win the previous night looked to continue their winning streaks as they went head to head in the Watertown Municipal Arena.

A wrister from Colby Spooner would be the first goal of the night for the Wolves. A power play with 1 minute left in the period provided Ben Schoeneberger the opportunity to get a knuckle-puck in the net. Watertown would end the first period with a 2-0 lead.

Berkshire's Vadim Guskov would take advantage of a 5-on-3 power play to get the first goal of the second period. Tyler Prendergast would get the Battalion their second goal 1 minute later on a 5-on-4 power play to tie the game up. Ian Reopel assisted Ben Schoeneberger with his second goal of the night to put the Wolves back in the lead. Berkshire quickly retaliated 30 seconds later to tie the game back up with a Tom Tracy goal. The period ended in a 3 all tie.

The third period would belong to Watertown. Lucas LaBelle scores off a rebound from Cody Dion. LaBelle and Schoeneberger assisted Dion in getting his own goal past Louie George. Matt Wray's goal from Dion and LaBelle would be the end of George in the net for Berkshire as Messina went into the net. Dylan O'Neil's walloping on Brad Ritter put the Wolves in a power play they successfully killed off. Lucas LaBelle would get his second goal of the period with a fast break and fake-out on Messina. A melee would erupt with 21 seconds left in the game, the main event between Justin MacDonald and Tristan Lysko that would be interrupted by Matt Wray who would layout Lysko. When it was all said and done, game misconducts were issued to Watertown's Corey Evelyn and Matt Wray as well as Berkshire's Mike McCurtain and Matthew Hamilton. Watertown was the victor with a final score 7-3.

Watertown remains tied for 1st place in the league with Danbury Whalers.

Watertown's next home game will be against the Danbury Whalers at the Watertown Municipal Arena on Friday, January 23rd. The puck drops at 7:35. Warriors Win in OT

Ryan Dolence's goal at 4:14 in overtime lifted the Steel City Warriors to a 5-4 victory over the Dayton Demonz.

Steel City lit the lamp to kick things off on the opening shift...netting the goal at 18:54. MJ Graham put in the goal from Denis Semenov and John Scully. Dayton tied things up before the end of the period on a goal by Ahmed Mahfouz. The game was even as things went into the 2nd...when Steel City netted 2 goals, one from #67 Zach Tatrn with helpers from Denis Semenov and MJ Graham. The 2nd goal of the period came from Denis Semenov, assisted by#91 Edgars" Ozo" Ozolins and Captain Zach Tatrn. Dayton chipped on in to keep pace , #9 Jared Hicks scored the goal from former Warrior Jake Lobato and Dan Pszenyczny. The 3rd period Dayton tied things up late after Steel City went ahead 4-2 as Tatrn scored his 2nd of the night from Graham and Semenov. This line was a recurring nightmare for Dayton, as they had no answer for the Warriors top line. Things ended in OT as Dolence made his triumphant return to the Ice Garden after a long injury recovery with Semenov notching his 5th point of the night on a sweet pass for a tap in. John Scully rounded out the scoring with the final assist in the 3 on 3 OT period.

Look for these 2 teams to go at it hard and heavy Monday night in a rematch at the Ice Garden.
