Dayton Dominates 1000 Islands
By Robert Kirchner
(Dayton, Ohio) The Dayton Demonz returned home this evening for 3 games in as many days. Tonight and Saturday the Demonz welcomed back to back games against 1000 Islands Privateers. On Sunday afternoon the Demonz welcome Danville Dashers to Hara Arena.
The Dayton Demonz offensive show again proves to overpower another opponent, as the Dayton Demonz beat the 1000 Privateers 7-3.
The first period of play ended with Dayton 2 and 1000 Islands 2.
1000 Islands would take a 1-0 lead on an unassisted goal by Adam McAllister, Dayton responded with two goals, one each by Jesse Felten and Ahmed Mahfouz, to take the 2-1 lead before Max Mobley would tie the game with 1 second left in the period.
The crazy 2nd period saw another offensive explosion by the Demonz. The Demonz would do all the scoring in the period. Dayton scored 4 unanswered goals to lead at the end of two periods 6-2. The Demonz Ahmed Mahfouz (2nd of the game), and Jesse Felten scored on back to back penalty shots for a 4-2 Dayton lead. Perter Cintala and Jesse Felten (hat trick) added to Dayton's lead to close out the scoring for the period.
In the final frame Dayton and 1000 Islands would exchange a goal each. The Privateers Nikolas Temple would cut the score 6-3 on the power play. Not to be outdone Ahmed Mahfouz would close out the scoring in the game, with a shorthanded goal, and a hat trick, to make it final 7-3 Demonz.

Danville Blows Out Danbury, 6-1
The Danville Dashers defeated the Danbury Whalers 6-1 in a penalty filled contest at the David S. Palmer Arena.
Danville jumped out to a 3-0 lead behind goals from Billy Hunt, Justin Levac and Ryan Stern in the first period.
The second period saw the Dashers score two goals late in the frame from Dustin Skinner and Jonathan Juliano. The goals were overshadowed, though, by a handful of fights and ejections. Whalers captain Ed Campbell received a 5 minute major for spearing and then dropped the mitts with Billy Hunt moments after Juliano made the game 5-0. Also on the play was a fight between Jonathan Juliano and Julian Fraser.
The Dashers made it 6-0 to start the third period on Levac's second goal of the night. On the ensuing faceoff Julian Fraser squared off with the Dashers' Chris Affinati and after the fight received a gross misconduct for attempting to start an altercation with the Dashers' bench.
After a Dashers penalty in the third the Whalers' Cody Ayers scored to make the final score 6-0.
The fireworks should carry over to tomorrow's contest at 7:05pm in Danville.
