Andrew Willock scored the game-winner 13:40 into the extra session on a rebound goal in front to end arguably one of the more exciting games this season.
Danbury jumped out to a 3-0 edge after the first period of play with two goals coming just 21-seconds apart within the final minute. Martin Moucha opened the scoring for the Whalers with his first tally of the post season at the 7:18 mark after wristing the puck under the blocker of A's netminder Jo St. Pierre.
