In Brantford, the Red Sox downed the Kitchener Panthers 8-2 to win their seventh consecutive game and run their record to 15-3, 3 1/2 games ahead of the second-place London Majors in one of two IBL games on Friday night. The Panthers are now 8-9 and in sixth place.
The Red Sox overcame a 2-0 deficit to score eight unanswered runs starting with four in the fourth inning at Arnold Anderson Stadium. Kevin Hinton had two hits including a two run double in the fourth to spring the Sox ahead 3-2.
Lee Delfino, Scott Thorman and Hyung Cho each added two hits. Thorman also had two walks and a solo home run in the fifth inning.
Nathan Forer (5-1) went six innings for the win, allowing two runs on five hits with eight strikeouts. He walked none. Brian Speck pitched two innings of relief, giving up only one hit and two walks with three strikeouts. Stefan Strecker pitched a scoreless ninth.
Kyle McKay (1-2) took the loss for Kitchener. He went five innings, allowing five runs on eight hits and one walk and three strikeouts. He was followed by three Kitchener relievers.

In Hamilton, the London Majors moved ½ game ahead of the third-place Barrie Baycats with a 7-2 win over the Hamilton Cardinals. The Cardinals are last in the standings with a 4-15 record.
Cleveland Brownlee led the Majors with two hits including a three-run home run in the fourth inning to put the Majors ahead 7-1. Tyler Graham added a solo home run in the third inning while Paul LaMantia contributed two hits.
Chike Springer had two hits for the Cardinals with Zack Ranta adding a run-scoring double.
Cory Hammond (2-0) was the winning pitcher, going five innings allowing two runs on four hits and four walks with three strikeouts. Taylor Carr and Jason Schneider each hurled two innings in relief.
Benson Merritt, making his first start for the Cardinals, took the loss. He pitched three innings, allowing three runs, only one earned, on two hits and seven walks while striking out four. He was followed by four relievers.
