Bellingham Slam News Release

McMINNVILLE, Ore. - The Bellingham Slam's Paul Hafford and Blake Poole combined for 53 points as the Slam picked up a 133-121 road victory against the Yamhill Highflyers at Linfield College's Wilson Gym on Friday evening.

Hafford started off the game on a tear, scoring four consecutive three-pointers en route to 16 first quarter points as the Slam bolted out to a 41-32 lead.

Yamhill rallied with a strong second quarter and tied the game going into halftime, at 67-67.

After a competitive third quarter saw Bellingham take a three-point lead, at 95-92, into the fourth quarter, the Slam used a 22-5 run down the stretch to put the game out of reach.

Hafford and Poole paced the Slam with 27 and 26 points, respectively, to lead six players in double figures. Poole also racked up 17 rebounds and 7 assists.

The two teams don't get any rest as they face each other in a re-match in Bellingham on Saturday, with a 7 p.m. tip-off set for Whatcom Pavilion. The game will be broadcast live on KGMI-AM 790 and online at www.kgmi.com.
