HV Fort Signs Ex-Raven, West Point Grad

FISHKILL, NY- The Hudson Valley Fort of the Fall Experimental Football League coming to the Hudson Valley in this October has signed their first big name player. Lieutenant Trent Steelman, Army West Point Grad, will be returning to the Hudson Valley to take part in the first season of the Hudson Valley Fort.

The 5'11", 200lbs Wide Receiver from Bowling Green, KY graduated from West Point in 2012 after becoming the starting quarterback all four years, while setting the school record for rushing touchdowns with the Black Knights. He attended the Baltimore Ravens' rookie minicamp in 2013 but was unable to join the league due to his military commitment. He was recently released from active duty to pursue his career in professional football, and soon helped lead team USA to the gold medal where he was named MVP of the International Federation of American Football World Championship. He was later signed with the Ravens as a free agent this past August, but was released at the end of camp.

Steelman has been training to become a wide receiver since he graduated from West Point. He has no intention of returning to quarterback, and is looking forward to trying out special teams positions. Steelman completed a full training camp with the Ravens and is on several short lists for the NFL's upcoming season.

The Fort will open at Dutchess Stadium on October 10th at 7:05 P.M. with gates opening at 5:30 P.M. The stadium will host a fireworks display immediately following the game.
