Coach Jenkins joined the FXFL inaugural effort a year ago in 2014 in support of Commissioner Brian Woods, by constructing 4 different teams of players as a General Manager and head coach for the league. Jenkins constructed teams in Omaha, NE, Boston, MA, and in Brooklyn, NY.
In regards to being placed in the Hudson Valley area for his second year of the FXFL, Jenkins was quoted as saying, "I am very excited and enthused about continuing to assist Commissioner Brian Woods and his staff in building the concept and purpose of the FXFL. The constant conversation that I have had with NFL executives, player personnel directors, scouts and NFL coaches about player development, improvement and player personnel movement in re-signing many of them with teams back to NFL clubs, reveal the successful thrust of this league's effort. While there were some expected challenges in year one in our league, the facts of results speak for themselves as the numbers of players returning back to the NFL was very impressive."
Some of the top players in the history of the game produced their very best games and/or seasons of their careers under the direction of Coach Jenkins. These players include Jim Kelly, Doug Flutie, Herschel Walker, David Klingler, Andre Ware, Jimmy Klingler, Anthony Calvillo, Kerwin Bell, Matt Dunigan and not to mention an endless string of historic receivers. Jenkins has even coached the current Hudson Valley Renegades baseball manager,Tim Parenton when he played both football and baseball at Mississippi State University.
Upon the hiring to direct the entire football operations in Hudson Valley Coach Jenkins said, " I am very grateful to Commissioner Brian Woods for the confidence that he places in me. I have always been very grateful for all of the opportunities and challenges that this game has provided me over the years. While being continually driven to strive for league and national titles I now find it very refreshing to become a champion for the "2nd Chance NFL players."
The Fort will open at Dutchess Stadium on October 10th at 7:05 P.M. with gates opening at 5:30 P.M. The stadium will host a fireworks display immediately following the game.
