Hungry West routs East in 2006 IBL all star game

Elkhart, IN-The IBL's West Division All-Stars were underdogs on paper, but they certainly did not play like it in Saturday's IBL All-Star Game. The West squad cruised to a 179-141 victory over a loaded East team.

Jay Anderson of the Eugene Chargers got things started for the West with a 17 point first quarter. Anderson, who finished with five three pointers, earned a co-championship with Shane Conwell of Cuyahoga Falls in the Three Point Shootout by hitting 21 of 25 three pointers in the final. Ryan Edwards of the Lake County Lakers won the Slam Dunk Contest.

Rashaad Powell of the Seattle Mountaineers led all scorers with 31 points. Powell was named the game's MVP. Powell's teammates from Seattle, Aleksey Adediran and Donald Watts were also instrumental in the West's win. Adediran finished with 28 points, and Watts added 19. Earnest Cobbin was the East's top scorer with 27 points.
