
Elkhart defeats Columbus in overtime for 2006 IBL title

Elkhart, IN-The Elkhart Express completed an outstanding inaugural season in the IBL with a 119-108 victory over the Columbus Cyclones to become the 2006 IBL Champions.
Columbus led by two at the half, and by seven going into the fourth quarter. The Express rallied to take a two point lead in the closing seconds, before Columbus tied the game on their final possession to force overtime. Elkhart took command of the game in the extra period-outscoring the Cyclones 19-8 to earn the title.
Elkhart guard Cedric Moodie was named the 2006 IBL Championship MVP. Moodie finished with a game-high 27 points, including five three pointers. Moodie also grabbed seven rebounds. Darmetreis Kilgore added 24 points and nine rebounds for the Express. Michael Brownlee nailed six threes for Columbus in leading the Cyclones with 23 points.
