Hughes named Director of Community Relations for EK Miners

PIKEVILLE, KY. - The East Kentucky Miners professional basketball organization has announced the hiring of Leigh Ann Hughes as the team's Director of Community Relations. A Pike County native, Hughes has wasted little time in getting involved in various Eastern Kentucky communities following her hiring.
Hughes has been involved with non-profit organizations throughout Eastern Kentucky.
She has formed lasting close relationships with the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), UNITE, Pride, school systems, churches and city officials. She has held hundreds of events in their honor and helped with fundraising for their respective organizations. Hughes has a history of volunteering countless hours towards the success of non-profit organizations and has a passion for the economic development of Eastern Kentucky.
"As an organization, we couldn't be happier to have Leigh Ann join the East Kentucky Miners," said East Kentucky Coach Kevin Keathley. "She's very well respected throughout the community and she will be a strong representative for the Miners as a whole.
"I look forward to working with her on a daily basis to help build strong community partnerships throughout the Mountains. This is one of the biggest hires for us to date."
Among Hughes' job duties is coordinating community appearances for members of the East Kentucky Miners organization, including Coach Kevin Keathley, players and the Diamond Girls Dance Team.
