Houston Dynamo FC News Release

HOUSTON (Saturday, May 11, 2013) - The Houston Dynamo return from a two-win road trip to host Sporting Kansas City tomorrow evening at BBVA Compass Stadium, in a game presented by Statoil. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. CT and tickets are still available at www.HoustonDynamo.com or at the stadium ticket office (2200 Texas St., Houston) from noon through kickoff on Sunday.

The meeting is a rematch of playoff series between the clubs in 2012 and 2011. Houston won both matchups, with a 2-1 aggregate series win in last year's Eastern Conference semifinal and a 2-0 road win in the Eastern Conference Championship in 2011.

Sunday's game will be broadcast live on Comcast SportsNet Houston, Yahoo Sports Radio 1560 AM and La Ranchera 850 AM (Spanish).

The Dynamo (6-2-2; 20 points) are tied for first place in the Eastern Conference with the New York Red Bulls (6-4-2) and Montreal Impact (6-2-2). Sporting Kansas City (5-4-2; 17 points) is in fourth place in the Eastern Conference after falling to the Seattle Sounders, 1-0, on Wednesday at Sporting Park.

The Dynamo return to Houston after securing two road wins in four days this week: a 1-0 victory over the LA Galaxy on Sunday and a 4-0 triumph at D.C. United on Wednesday behind two goals and two assists from Will Bruin. Houston carries a five-game unbeaten streak (3-0-2) into Sunday's match.

Sporting Kansas City features U.S. national team midfielder Graham Zusi (three goals and four assists this season) and U.S. national team defender Matt Besler, the 2012 MLS Defender of the Year. Argentine forward Claudio Bieler leads the club with six goals and goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen has recorded six shutouts through 11 games.

Sunday is the first meeting of the season between the Eastern Conference rivals after the clubs met five times in 2012, including playoffs. Houston visits Kansas City on May 26 before the teams return to BBVA Compass Stadium on Oct. 9.

Sporting KC is winless in its last six games in Houston (0-3-3), including a 2-0 defeat in the first leg of the Eastern Conference semifinal last November.

The Dynamo carry a league record 36-game home unbeaten streak in all competitions into Sunday's match. Houston has not lost a competitive home game since June 18, 2011.
