Charlotte Hounds News Release

BOSTON, MA - Major League Lacrosse today announced its weekly award winners for Week 15 of the 2016 season, naming Hounds midfielder Will Haus Warrior Defensive Player of the Week. In addition to Haus' honor, the Ohio Machine's John Grant Jr. was named Warrior Offensive Player of the Week and Myles Jones of the Chesapeake Bayhawks earned Cascade Rookie of the Week.

Haus on Saturday night recorded one goal and five groundballs in the Hounds' 15-13 victory over the Chesapeake Bayhawks at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte. His goal was scored in transition in the first quarter, off a feed from Joe Meurer.

The Hounds went down by as many as five goals in the third quarter, but the performance at the faceoff X by Brendan Fowler and on the wings by Haus and Michael Ehrhardt helped the Hounds rally back and clinch a spot in the postseason.

Haus this season has totaled three goals, two assists, 39 groundballs and 10 caused turnovers in 13 regular-season games.

The Hounds (8-6) this weekend travel to Blaine, MN, as the No. 4 seed in the MLL Playoffs. They will face the top-seeded Ohio Machine (8-6) on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 6:30pm. The game will be live on CBS Sports Net and Lax Sports Network.
