Hounds fall to Eagles 5-0 in Game 2

LOVELAND, COLORADO - Sebastien Laplante made 31 saves on 31 shots to lead the Colorado Eagles to a 5-0 win in game two of the Northern Conference Semifinals. The Eagles lead the series 2-0 going into game three on Tuesday night at the Chevrolet Centre.

Both teams went scoreless in the first 20 minutes. The Hounds out shot the Eagles 11-4 in the first period and 31-26 for the game.

Colorado took over in the second as Eric Adams scored a power play goal from Ryan Tobler and Brad Williamson at 6:35 to make it 1-0. The Eagles power play was the key again as they were 3-7 on the man advantage. The Eagles are 5-14 for the series and dating back to the regular season are 10-31 in the last four games. At 9:04 Leonard scored the Eagles second power play goal of the game from Williamson and Scott Polaski to make it 2-0. Greg Pankewicz scored an even strength goal from Ed McGrane and Les Borsheim at 10:49 to make it 3-0 after two periods.

In the third Les Borsheim scored a power play goal from Fraser Filipic and Steve Haddon at 13:34 to make it 4-0. Ed McGrane added an empty net goal with 46 seconds left to finish the scoring and give the Eagles a 5-0 win.

Andy Franck made 21 saves on 25 shots for the Hounds in a losing effort.

The series shifts back to Youngstown for game three on Tuesday night at 7:05. The Hounds trail in the series 2-0 but won all three regular season meetings in Youngstown.
