HOUSTON (October 25, 2013) - Relevent Sports, a division of RSE Ventures, the sports, entertainment and technology company co-founded by Dolphins owner Stephen Ross, announced today that Latin American squads Honduras and Ecuador will face off in an international friendly match at BBVA Compass Stadium on Tuesday, November 19th. The match will kick off at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $30 and will be available beginning Monday, October 28th at 10 a.m.
"We're very excited to bring these two top Latin American teams back to the United States," said Relevent Sports President and CEO Charlie Stillitano. "Houston's residents are some of the most passionate sports fans in the world and always show up in full force to cheer on their beloved soccer teams."
Honduras, who recently qualified for their third World Cup and second in as many years, returns for their second appearance at BBVA Compass Stadium having previously faced off against Peru last November. Los Catrachos, featuring the Houston Dynamo's own Boniek Garcia and Wigan Athletic's Roger Espinoza is currently ranked 34th in the FIFA standings and qualified for the 2014 World Cup by finishing third in CONCACAF.
The Ecuadorian National Football Team, affectionately known as La Tri by fans, is considered one of the premier teams in the world and is led by Antonio Valencia and Felipe Caicedo with over 100 combined international caps. They qualified for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, which will mark the team's third appearance in the World Cup. They are currently ranked 22nd in the FIFA rankings.
Tickets for Honduras vs. Ecuador will start at $30 with $20 advance parking passes available.
