
Home Season Finale Saturday as Three-Time Defending MASL Champ Baltimore Blast Visits

LAKELAND, Fla. - The Florida Tropics will look to finish at least the home portion of their 2018-19 schedule at .500 when they host the three-time defending Major Arena Soccer League Baltimore Blast on Fan Appreciation Night Saturday, April 6, at the RP Funding Center.
Division rivals for the past two years, this is the only meeting of the two teams this year. Baltimore has already earned a spot in the league playoffs, with the Blast hosting Utica City on Saturday, April 20, in the opening round of the post season. Florida has been eliminated from playoff contention. Lifetime, Baltimore holds a 9-3 advantage in games, with the two teams being in the Eastern Division with each other for the two seasons prior to this one.
Ricardo Diegues continues to lead the Tropics offense, with 22 goals in 17 games played this season Victor Parreiras is the leading point getter with 15 goals and 13 assists in 19 games. Jonatas Melo leads Baltimore with 19 goals and 20 assists. Baltimore is 16-7, tied with Utica with the same record atop this year's Eastern Division.
Saturday's game will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Washington for Blast fans, and online at www.masl.tv. Florida, 6-16, will finish its season on the road Saturday, April 13 when they visit the Orlando SeaWolves.
The Tropics SC, new members of the United Premer Soccer League, will host Clay County in that teams outdoor home opener on Friday, April 12, at Lake Myrtle Sports Complex, with a roster that features many of the stars of the MASL side including Diegues, Parrreiras, Hugo Silva and Lucas Montelares.
