Texas Tornado News Release
There are only nine games remaining in the NAHL regular season for the Texas Tornado. That it why it is now more important than ever for the Tornado to win home games as the NAHL playoffs near. That continues this weekend as the Tornado host the Central Texas Marshals on Friday, February 25th at 7:30pm, and the Wichita Falls Wildcats on Saturday, February 26th at 7:30pm at the Dr Pepper StarCenter in Frisco. Both games are expected to be sold out, however tickets still remain by ordering online at www.tornadohockey.com or by calling 972-335-9800. Friday night, the first 2,000 fans will receive a FREE Texas Tornado 2004-05 team poster (note: Friday was scheduled to be Money Mailer Tornado Hat Night, but that has been moved to the March 12th home game). Saturday, the Tornado will be honoring America's Armed Forces by wearing special camouflage jerseys that will be auctioned off following the game, and will also be giving away FREE Support the Troops wristbands courtesy of 7-11.

Ticket information regarding the 2005 NAHL Playoffs and the 2005-2006 season will be posted soon on the Tornado website. The magic number for the Tornado to clinch their 6th straight playoff berth is down to two, and they can clinch Friday night with a win over Central Texas and a Wichita Falls loss at Texarkana. Season tickets for the 2005-06 season will be on sale beginning in March.
TORNADO WIN 7-3 DURING ONLY GAME LAST WEEKEND
From the get go, the Wichita Falls goaltenders were in trouble. Seven different Tornado players scored in a dominating performance by the Tornado offense. After a #28 Karl Sellan breakaway goal and a #17 Jordan Mowbray shot from the slot, the Tornado not only led 2-1 after the 1st period, but were outshooting the Wildcats 21-5. #9 Justin King set the tone for the game after the first Wildcats goal, as he crushed a Wildcat player in a fight. The second period was all Tornado as they scored four goals. #5 Brett Blatchford gave the Tornado a 3-2 lead, and #22 Matt Krug made it 4-2 on a 4 on 4. #27 Justin Liut made it 5-2, and chased the Wildcats starting goalie from the net. #15 Nick Mazzolini returned to the line-up in style scoring the 6th goal on a rocket blast from the point. #18 Tom Train was given a major penalty and a game misconduct in the 2nd period for cross checking, so the majority of the Tornado offense came without the team captain. The third period was more of the same, as #12 Brad Cooper gave the Tornado a 7-3 lead on the power play. Late in the game, Sellan was checked from behind, but teammate Krug was quick to dish out swift punishment by dropping the mitts. During the fight the Wildcats player received a match penalty. #30 Ben Bishop stopped 24 of 27 shots for his 28th win of the year, often times making some spectacular saves.
