
Hockey Puck To Coffee Puck

Topeka, Kansas 20, 2009) What do you get when you mix fast paced hockey and amazing coffee? A lot of adrenaline and excitement. The Topeka Roadrunners has partnered with the citys own, PTs Coffee Roasting Co., to create a unique blend that is being unveiled during the Roadrunners three game series this weekend, October 22-24. of the PT's staff will be on site during the games to pass out samples and answer questions from fans. The cost for a 12 oz. bag is $10 and it will be available for purchaseat all home games, at the RR office, and at PT's coffee shop in Barrington Village. All proceeds from the coffeewill go to the RoadRunner Alumni Association. PT's will also be donating coffee to all of the Billet families as a thank you for all that they do for the players.
Co-Founder and Operations Manager of PTs, Fred Polzin, comments that, PTs is happy to cap off an exciting year by teaming with the new ownership group of the Roadrunners. We are extremely excited about their commitment to the Topeka Community. In addition to providing great entertainment, they are committed to introducing the community of Topeka to an outstanding group of young men.
PTs Coffee Roasting Co. began in 1993 as a single coffee shop in Topeka, Kansas. An intense passion for coffee led to roasting coffee in 1997. PTs is recognized for award-winning small lot coffees from around the worlds coffee growing regions. They are among the leading roasters reviewed by industry resource Coffee Review, receiving the guides highest ever rating of 97 points. This year, PTs won the exclusive title of Roaster of the Year from Roast Magazine. Their coffee shop in Barrington Village remains a popular to be seen place in Topeka and they continue to supply product to coffee shops from New York to California. RoadRunners owner Don Stone is looking forward to debut of the coffee The RoadRunners team, staff, and ownership couldnt be more excited to be working with such a great roasterie. Not only are we able to provide our fans with a wonderful coffee to enjoy every morning, but we are also able to thank our billet families and donate to our Alumni Association.
The Topeka RoadRunners have begun their 3rd season in the Capital City and the Alumni Association was formed earlier this year. The first annual Alumni Game took place this year over Labor Day weekend and featured 24 RoadRunners Alumni. The current President of the association is John Stoddard, whose jersey will be retired at Saturdays game, October 24.
