London Lightning News Release

(LONDON, ON) - The London Lightning are one win away from making NBL Canada history as they improve to 10-0 on the season after defeating the visiting Sudbury Five, 108-105, Thursday night.

Both teams came into the match undermanned as the Lightning were down Terry Thomas and Manny Sahota, both healthy scratches, while Sudbury was without star guard Jaylen Bland (injured) and big man Zena Edosomwan who was out after being suspended for throwing a punch in their last game.

It was a sloppy game for the Bolts as they turned the ball over 24 times, allowing the Five to score 31 points off said turnovers. London and Sudbury would trade leads 28 times and find themselves tied 15 times on the night before London was able to pull away late in the forth to hold on and earn the three point victory.

Four Lightning players recorded double-doubles on the night led by Cam Forte's 25 points and 10 rebounds. Chris Jones (21 points, 10 assists), Jaylon Tate (11 points, 10 assists) and Amir Williams (16 points, 11 rebounds) who set a franchise record with 8 blocked shots on the night.

Dexter Williams led the visiting Five with 30 points while Jeremy Harris added 28 points.
