The Hickory Nutz stayed perfect tonight with a 122-91 win over the Salisbury Steaks in front of their biggest crowd of the year.
Marquise Gainous lead the Nutz with 27 points. Steve Moss Kelly added 17. Will Johnson and Tyson Patterson chipped in 16 each. Patterson extended his double double streak to 5 games with 11 assists.
Jamal President led the Steaks with 39 and Andre McCollum had 34 points.
The two teams have meet again Thursday July 3 in Hickory. Tip off is at 7:00pm.
"This team has something special. This start is because of their disire to improve each other." Nutz head coach Bryan Gates commented after the game. "The Nutz fans give them great support, and they return the favor every night."
749 tickets were ripped at Hickory High School giving the Nutz their biggest crowd of the season.
