Huntington Heroes News Release
Huntington, WV - The Huntington Heroes return to action Saturday at the Veterans Memorial Field House. Game time for this first meeting with The Canton Legends (5-4) is 7PM.
STANDINGS
With the Erie loss last week, the Heroes are tied for first in the loss column. Erie, Reading and Huntington all have 2 losses. Erie does retain first place with a 7-2 record followed by Huntington (6-2), Reading (6-2), Canton (5-4), Johnstown (5-4), Miami (4-4), Syracuse (1-7) and Steubenville (0-9).
LAST WEEK
The Heroes (6-2) are coming off a 50 "" 29 win in Syracuse. Fred Ray threw for 5 touchdowns, twice each to Brad Bates and James Hawkins and once to Shane Holsinger.
Jamus Martin was the AIFL defensive player of the week with 7 sacks, 5 tackles, 4 QB pressures, a blocked field goal attempt and a fumble recovery.
Canton had a bye last week and last played on April 23rd , losing to Reading 56-18.
LATEST ADDITIONS
Huntington has signed former West Virginia Tech player, Savon McLemore. The 6-2, 270 lb defensive lineman will play this Saturday.
Canton has signed former Erie kicker J R Cipra.
LASTEST DELETIONS
Huntington's Brad Bates broke his right arm in the game against Syracuse. Craig Chisolm has been cut from the roster.
RACE TO CHARLOTTE
The Heroes will be giving away a pair of tickets to the Coca-Cola 600 at the game this Saturday. Every paid ticket holder will be eligible to win.
TICKETS ON SELL
Tickets will be on sell at the field house box office on Saturday at 2PM. Ticket prices are $25, $20, $15, and $10. Special rates for youth 12 and under are available.
SIDELINE PASSES
There are still a few sideline passes left for Saturday's game. These $35 passes put you on the floor at the wall.
