Heredia Tosses Marauders past Charlotte

Port Charlotte, FL - RHP Luis Heredia (1-2) made his strongest start of the season as the Marauders (32- 38) topped the Stone Crabs (45-25) 6-3 at Charlotte Sports Park on Wednesday night. Heredia completed five innings for the first time this season while allowing one run on three hits and a walk while striking out one.

Eight of the nine Marauders in the lineup collected at least one hit. C Reese McGuire, 1B Edwin Espinal, and RF Harold Ramirez all had two hits. Four Marauders relievers teamed to limit the Stone Crabs to two runs over the final four innings. RHP Clario Perez earned his third save with a perfect ninth inning.

NOTES: The game began at 7:03 p.m. under cloudy skies, 84 degrees, and wind blowing 8 mph from right to left ... The Marauders finished the 1st Half by taking two of three from the 1st Half Champions for the second time in four seasons, also accomplishing that feat against the St. Lucie Mets in 2012 ... The Marauders completed the half without a postponement for the second time in franchise history ...
