The Aberdeen Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League are pleased to announce the advancement of forward Ronnie Hein to the Waterloo Blackhawks of the USHL.

Hein, who was the third leading scorer for the Wings with 8 goals and 9 assists, now joins the Waterloo Blackhawks for the remainder of the season. Hein saw time in two games earlier this season scoring an assist on a goal back in early December for the Blackhawks. Impressed with Hein's play, the team wished to add him to their roster.

"Player advancement is one of the main goals of our program and we are proud to see another Wing move up the hockey ladder," said Aberdeen Wings head coach Francis Anzalone.

Hein was drafted in the 15th Round of the 2014 USHL Draft by Waterloo. After spending time in training camp with the Blackhawks, Hein remained as an affiliate player and reported to the Aberdeen Wings. The opportunity for Hein has excited the organization, as now 12 former Wings players have moved on to the USHL (Tier I) including last season's NAHL Rookie of the Year TJ Roo who plays for the Fargo Force.

"This is a good opportunity for Ronnie to take the next step in his hockey career," added Anzalone. "Ronnie has a bright future and we feel fortunate to have played a role in his development as a player, athlete and person."

Hein committed to NCAA Division I Ferris State University earlier in the season while with the Aberdeen Wings.
