
Hector Borg Named San Jose Giants Manager

San Jose, CA- The San Francisco Giants announced that Hector Borg will be the manager for the remainder of the San Jose Giants 2019 season.
Borg replaced Bill Hayes, who resigned last Saturday. Borg, 34, had been serving as the fundamentals coach for the Giants' Dominican Summer League team this season prior to his appointment in San Jose. Last year, Borg was the manager for the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (Giants Short-Season affiliate). He also managed the Giants' Arizona Rookie League team in 2017. Borg played three seasons in the San Francisco farm system from 2004-06.
Borg will take over managerial duties effective immediately. The San Jose Giants open a six-game homestand tonight against the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes at Excite Ballpark.
