Tucson, ARIZ - The Arizona Heat of National Pro Fastpitch League is proud to announce the signing of Stanford outfielder Catalina Morris. Morris, a three-time NFCA All-American will join the Heat for their upcoming series with Team USA.

Morris, a native of Sierra Vista, signed with the Heat following her graduation from Stanford University. She ended her career as one of the most decorated players in Cardinal history, earning All Pac-10 honors four times. Morris was also named to the USA Elite Team in both 2004 and 2005.

Catalina enjoyed an amazing senior season that saw her hit a career high .365 with 7 homeruns and 29 RBIs. She also added a team high five triples and 12 steals. Morris finished her career with a .336 average to go along with 34 homeruns and 128 RBIs. She currently owns the Cardinal's single season triples record with six and career triples record with 17. Morris also ranks second all-time in career runs with 174, home runs with 34, and stolen bases with 43.

Morris and the rest of the Heat are preparing to take on the US National Team this weekend at Hi Corbett Field. The Heat returned from a match up with Texas last week, splitting the four game series with the Thunder. The series will start Friday and go through Sunday with a doubleheader on Saturday Night. Friday's and Sunday's games will start at 7 pm with Saturday's doubleheader starting at 6 pm.

Team USA will be playing their first games since the team was chosen last Monday. They will be led by University of Arizona Head Coach Mike Candrea and will return several familiar faces. Alicia Hollowell and Caitlin Lowe will both be suiting up for the National Team after winning the National Championship a few weeks ago. Also returning to Tucson will be ex-Wildcat stars Jennie Finch and Lovie Jung. Finch and Jung are joined by nine other 2004 Olympic Gold Medal winners including NCAA Career Strikeout leader Cat Osterman and Tucson native Tairia Flowers.
