
Head coaches Lavigne and Roy receive fines

BOUCHERVILLE, Thursday, February 1, 2007 - The Commissioner of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Gilles Courteau, today imposed $2,000 fines to head coaches Eric Lavigne of the Val-d'Or Foreurs and Patrick Roy of the Quebec Remparts for actions detrimental to the QMJHL, which occurred in separate contests on the evening of December 30.
Ãric Lavigne was fined for throwing objects onto the ice during a game versus the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in Val-d'Or, while Patrick Roy received an identical fine after he threw objects onto the ice in a game versus the Drakkar in Baie-Comeau.
In accordance with the QMJHL policy in the matter of disciplinary sanctions, the Commissioner will not be available for further comment.
