Daytona Beach Hawgs News Release

Daytona Beach, FL- The number one secondary in the league looks to propel their team of Hawgs into another win on the record books. Saturday night will be an amazing game in Rome, Georgia, as the test of whether defense wins football games will come to pass yet again.

The Daytona Beach Hawgs are becoming known for their stinging defense, ranking in number two in the entire league, with only 183.2 yards per game being given up. Their secondary is number one in the league with 132.9 yards per game being given up. They are also the second ranking defensive unit, allowing a punishing 34.8 points per game. With a defense like that, who could ever argue that defense doesn't win ball games?

Among other impressive stats, the Hawgs are also fifth in the league in sacks. All of these stats together make for a grim outlook for the Renegades. Their offensive production is only 42.2 points per game, fifteenth in the league.

Some key players on the amazing defensive machine of the Hawgs are Nick Allison, and Micah Simmons. When these two players get together, they are two of the top three interception earners in the league, with 23 interceptions among them that were ran for 228 yards.

The Renegades have lost two of their last three games, and at 6-7 are in danger of not being in the playoff hunt. They certainly have their work cut out for them. Game time will be at 7:00 EDT at Forum's Field in Rome, Georgia. There are still tickets available for this, the last home game of the Renegade's season, and another stop on the road to the playoffs for your Daytona Beach Hawgs!!!
