Sioux Falls, SD - Cam Hassert belted a walkoff, opposite-field homerun with two outs in the ninth inning on Thursday to lift the Canaries to a 5-4 victory over Winnipeg.

Joe Vos opened the scoring with an RBI single in the bottom of the second and blasted a two-run homer in the fourth to put the Birds in front 3-0.

The Goldeyes got two runs back in the top of the sixth and took the lead with a two-run double in the eighth.

Jabari Henry walked to start the home half and pinch runner Chase Engelhard stole second base with two outs before Anthony Hall tied the game on an RBI single to left field.

Eric Waldichuk retired all three batters he faced in the top of the ninth, striking out a pair. A flyout and a groundout started the bottom portion before Hassert's deep drive to left in his second game as a Canary.

Thomas Dorminy tossed a quality start, allowing two runs on five hits over six innings. Vos and Hassert each finished with three hits as the Birds improve to 43-41 overall. The Canaries welcome Kansas City to open a three-game series Friday at 7:05pm.
