Harrisburg Stampede 2014 Training Camp Roster and Practice Schedule Released

HARRISBURG, PA (Mar 10, 2014) -The Harrisburg Stampede will open the teams first training camp as a member of the PIFL on Wednesday March 12th at the Historic Ice Palace in Hershey, PA the team announced today.
Players will begin medical and physical testing March 11th, followed by the seasons' first practice. The team hits the field for the first time as a member of the PIFL, coming off a league championship in 2013 in the AIF. Training camp will run through the final weeks of March, leading into the Home Opener, and Inaugural game for the Stampede in Hershey's Giant Center.
"We're really excited to get this season underway," said Stampede President/General Manager Marques Colston. "Coach Nowotarski and the coaching staff have put together a talented roster that will help us compete at a high level on this new stage in Giant Center."
The roster of 40 players open training camp Wednesday March 12th at 8:00pm in Hershey's Ice Palace. The Stampede will have roster cut downs following a full contact scrimmage Saturday March 15th, versus the Delmarva Bayriders, a semi pro team from Delaware. The active roster will be released prior to the season opener versus the Columbus Lions at Giant Center on Sunday March 30th.

The Stampede will open training camp with a series of practices closed to the media and public. On Saturday March 15, the Stampede will host the Delmarva in full contact scrimmage, again closed to the public and media. Fans and media alike will get a sneak preview of the 2014 team on Wednesday March 19th as the Stampede hosts a public practice at Giant Center that is open to the media and season ticket holders.
The team will wrap up training camp with its final preseason practice March 29th before kicking off its inaugural game at Giant Center season the following afternoon versus the Columbus Lions.
