Wilmington Hammerheads FC Signee Josue Currias Prieto

Wilmington, NC - Wilmington Hammerheads FC announced the signing of midfielder Josué Currais Prieto to the 2016 USL regular season roster.
At the young age of 23, the play-making midfielder is already a well-traveled player with experience in multiple leagues including La Liga of Spain, Indian Super League (ISL) and clubs in Italy, Finland and Poland. The 5'9" Spanish native discovered his passion for soccer early, and trained at FC Barcelona's famed training youth facilities. It was there that his talent was noticed, and he was signed by RCD Espanyol of La Liga of Spain.
Prieto joins the 2016 Hammerheads roster from the Kerala Blasters FC of the ISL, and he will be reunited with former teammate, Bruno Perone, whose signing was announced last week. Prior to his time with the Blasters, Prieto played in the top Polish Football League with Gornik Leczna. He also had the chance to play with another current teammate, Justin Moose, during his year in the highest tier of the Finnish League with Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho (SJK).
"I'm looking forward to playing with the Wilmington Hammerheads," said Currais. "I hope to be strong competitors in the season and for the USL title."
"Prieto is the creative talent that will make our fans want to come to our games," says Head Coach Mark Briggs. "He sees things that other players don't. Coming up through the Barcelona system, he has had a great upbringing in the game."
